Hi Mike Final production of the TS-940S series was the K2 Lot SN 0040100.

These were imported 4 months after the introduction of the TS-950S Sometime late 1988.

I would have to check my records but I believe there are 20 mil SNs out there.

Also I need to look at my certificate from Kenwood for the service school I attended in Oct or Nov of 89 because at that school the first 950 in the US was there for us to look at.

They received 10 more the week we were there but they were not shipping yet.Kenwood USA was doing a 100 QC on the first lots and delaying shipment until checked.
